The York College Learning Resource Center hosts a variety of academic support services that offer all York College students the opportunity to learn in an active, collaborative, supportive environment. Our staff consists of nearly 100 peer and professional tutors, and over half of the York College students participate in LRC programs.
The LRC offers a Writing Center for all writing assignments in every course, math tutoring, study skills assistance, tutoring for selected courses, study groups, workshops on a variety of topics, review sessions, and accommodations for students with disabilities. It is our goal to help all students become engaged learners so that they will achieve academic success.
Use our Writing Lab in HC 06 to write your papers for every course. We offer computers, printing, writing tutors to answer your questions or review your draft, and resources such as the MLA & APA handbooks. The Instructional Technology Department assists students with computer skills and Blackboard use.
Do you want to become a tutor? The requirement to become a peer tutor is to have earned a "4.0" in the class you wish to tutor and to have a the professor recommend you. Contact Cindy Crimmins or Barb Zmolek for more information.
