The Writing Center
The York College Writing Center consists of peer Writing Fellows and Professional Consultants, who will assist all writers with writing assignments for any course. Our goal is to provide feedback and help students become confident writers.
The Fellows and Consultants work with writers during one-on-one conferences, usually for an hour. To make an appointment, stop by Humanities 01, or call 815-1296, or log on to MyYCP, click the "For Students" tab, and follow the Learning Resource Center links to "Writing Assistance." Write your papers in our Writing Lab: Humanities 06 contains computers, printer, and tables for group work. It is open any time the LRC is open, and you are encuraged to drop in and work on your assignments there. The LRC staff will be available to assist you any time you ask.
Apply to become a Writing Fellow: All Writing Fellows are required to take WRT290 Teaching and Tutoring Writing and complete the course with a "4." Contact the LRC Director after successfully completing WRT 290 to become a Writing Fellow.
