Schmidt Library's Archives and Special Collections

Schmidt Library's Archive Department preserves and promotes York College's two hundred year history. Documenting the institution's evolution from a small boys' school into a four-year college, archival records include both textual and non-textual items. School yearbooks are located here. Other memorabilia housed here, such as stained glass windows, regalia, ceramicware, plaques, and mementos, enhance our glimpse into the school's earlier culture.  Faculty publications are also housed within Archives.

Schmidt Library's Special Collections' Room houses over 1700 volumes of rare books dating from 1648 through the early twentieth century.  Many volumes explore York County history.  Other objects of  interest housed within the room reflect local history and the area's distinctive culture.  The Lincoln Collection includes over 950 volumes, as well as letters, photographs, and memorabilia relating to the life and times of Abraham Lincoln.
