YCP Antivirus Software Requirements
Be sure to completely uninstall ALL antivirus programs
BEFORE installing YCP's required antivirus program!
All student owned machines are required to install the current version of the McAfee® Antivirus® program that York College offers at no additional cost to students. The Information Technology Department strongly encourages students to download and install this software before arrival on campus to avoid delays on move-in day.
McAfee® Antivirus® and McAfee® Anti-Spyware® will be available for students running Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista. McAfee® Virex® for MacintoshTM will be available to students using MAC OSX 10.2.6, 10.2.8, 10.3x, 10.4x, Mac 10.4.4 and later.
This anti-virus software will be available to download from MyYCP ( http://my.ycp.edu ) under the "For Students" tab after you receive your password. Packets containing a valid YCP network username and password, which allows one to access MyYCP and the required software, will be mailed home for new students after August 1st.
The required anti-virus software will also be available for installation during the York College network registration process.
