    Public Computer Labs

    These computer labs are located in the Business Administration Building, the Performing Arts Center, the Humanites Center, and the McKay Building.

  • Satellite labs open 1/2 hour later and close 1 hour earlier than the IT Help Desk.  All other labs open and close at the same time as the IT Help Desk.  Part-time labs will have their operating hours posted individually.

    Smart Classrooms contain an instructor station and projector and can be reserved for academic use by instructors.  The public labs are not intended for lecture purposes but rather for occassional lab use that may be needed for certain classes.  Classes that are actually a lab class or that need to use a computer lab frequently must have prior permission from the IT Department.

    Hours

    Lab hours are posted at the beginning of each semester at the IT Help Desk, PAC 181. The computer labs will be closed during holidays and semester breaks. Labs will be open for general student use except when classes are scheduled in the lab. Each computer lab has a reservation schedule posted online and may be posted on the door.

    General Procedures and Policies

    • No food or drink are allowed in labs.
    • Smoking or other tobacco products are not permitted in the buildings.
    • Animals, except guide dogs for the physically challenged, are not permitted in the buildings.
    • Noise should be kept to a minimum in the labs.
    • The computer labs in the are not meeting rooms.  If you must do group work, meeting rooms are available in several campus facilities.
    • When it is apparent that a patron is attempting to steal or mutilate any lab material or equipment, Campus Security will be called.
    • If you suspect that there are any problems with software or hardware do not attempt to fix the problem, instead please ask the IT Help Desk for assistance.

    Assistance in the labs

    Help is available at the IT Help Desk, PAC 181.  IT Help Desk staff and students are on duty to assist users with a variety of problems or to answer questions.  Handouts are also available at the help desk to guide users with a variety of issues. 

    Printing

    All YCP users are welcome to use the pay-for-print facilities available.  Scanning and color printing are available in the A/V Services area of the Library.
