Description:
The College is concerned about the health of its students. A Registered Nurse is in the Health Center for evaluation. The Nurse may triage the patient initially and then schedule with the physician or nurse practitioner as needed.  The College physician is available at designated times Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Nurse Practitioner is available on Thursdays and Friday mornings.

Walk - ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged and will be taken first, except in the case of an emergency.  We can set up an appointment for a later time if we are unable to see you when you initially arrive at the Health Center.  An appointment can also be made in advance by calling the Health Center at 849-1615 or ext. 1615.

Student Health Insurance Information

Glatfelter Insurance

Students not otherwise covered by health and accident insurance are required to apply for coverage under a policy available to all YCP students. These premiums are for a 12 month contract. Specific information regarding coverage will be sent to all students by mail prior to the opening of the Fall semester. Students who carry insurance through the College must file a claim form within 20 days following an accident or illness.

Claim forms may be obtained in the Health Center or online at https://www.hrconnection.com/loginurl.aspx.  You will then be able to access enrollment forms, claim forms, and FAQ's, under the tab heading of Forms and Plan Information.

Resident students are to report all illnesses and accidents occurring after hours to the Resident Director or designated staff. A student confined in the residence hall more than 48 hours is expected to make arrangements to be taken home or evaluated at a local hospital.
