    Institutional Pass Rate
Standardized examinations are one of a number of measurements required for a Teacher Candidate to become a Certified Teacher. Many states, including Pennsylvania, now use The Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers or PRAXIS Examinations administered through Educational Testing Service (ETS) for this assessment. On the PRAXIS examinations required for Pennsylvania Teacher Certification, York College students place our institution in the third quartile for all tests when compared with students from the other 91 teacher preparation institutions in Pennsylvania.

We believe these scores indicate that York College Teacher Education Students are engaged in a good teacher education program with concerned and dedicated faculty who provide the highest levels of instruction, the most current research-based teaching strategies, and practical opportunities to put those ideas into practice. The foundation upon which our program is built is stated in our Philosophy, Mission and Goals, and Statement of Belief.
