August 22-25, 2008
Orientation is a comprehensive program for new students designed to facilitate a smooth transition to York College of Pennsylvania! You'll become more familiar with the campus layout and its culture while getting to know your classmates and upperclass student leaders.  Not only is this a time where you learn more about YCP, we have the privilege of welcoming you into our community and getting to know you!  More information about the Orientation schedule and how to prepare for your transition to YCP is provided in the links on the left hand side of the page.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is an Orientation Leader?
An Orientation Leader is a trained upper-class student who assists a small group of new students during their first semester at York College. Every new full-time student will receive an Orientation Leader and will meet him/her during Orientation.

  2. What is an Academic Advisor?
All matriculated students are assigned a faculty advisor. Academic Advisors can assist students in planning their academic program and/or clarifying their educational and career goals. Each student will meet with their Academic Advisor during Orientation.

  3. Do I HAVE to attend Orientation?
YES! Attending Orientation is essential to acclimating yourself to the York College environment. Many people that fail to attend the variety of sessions and events end up in the Student Activities Office asking all the questions that were covered throughout Orientation (and they miss out on establishing friendships!). For more information contact the Office of Student Activities and Orientation at 717-815-1239.
