2010-2011 Housing Information
The business office will be accepting tuition and housing deposits for the Fall 2010 semester starting
February 8th. The online portion of the process will be available once deposits have begun being accepted. Online, you will be able to pay your tuition and housing deposits, as well as fill out your 2010-2011 housing contract. Below is information regarding who is required to pay a housing deposit, when it should be paid by, and how it can be paid. If you have any questions regarding the process, please contact the Residnce Life Office.
First year through third year full-time students (less than 90 credits) of traditional college age including transfers and readmits (who have graduated from high school within four years) are required to live in YCP residence facilities or to commute from the home of a parent/guardian/relative until they have attained senior status, which is equivalent to 90 credits. All credits are based on the number of completed credits including those anticipated to be completed by the end of the Spring 2009 semester.

If you are continuing at YCP as a graduate student and will need housing, please contact the Residence Life Office for eligibility.
Current On-Campus Students Looking To Commute From Home

If you currently live on-campus and are looking to commute from home for the 2010-2011 academic year, you will need to fill out an commuter/off-campus application.

Students wishing to commute from the home of a parent/guardian/or relative must submit a completed application by February 15th.

Students must meet the criteria listed in the housing policy, which includes living within 25 miles of York College of Pennsylvania.

Applications received after February 15th will be considered applications for off-campus and not reviewed as an application to commute.

Applications to commute will be reviewed by February 25th, with notification on or before March 1st.

If you are not released to commute, you are still required to fullfill the residency requirement.

It is important to meet the application deadlines, failure to meet the assigned deadlines may result in not being released to commute.

Current Students Living Off-Campus Looking To Move On-Campus

Students currently living off-campus are eligible to live on-campus for the 2010-2011 academic year. The housing contract is for the full academic year.

A $200 deposit should be submitted to the business office or paid online. $100 is for Fall tuition and the second $100 is for housing/dorm damage deposit.

A housing contract will also need to be submitted. One can be printed off of the Residence Life web page or picked up in our office. If you chose to pay online, the housing contract can be filled out as part of that process.

2010-2011 Housing Contracts will be available starting in February 2010.

Room selection is anticipated to be held in April 2010. The room selection process is based on credits, including those completed by the end of Spring 2010.

More information will be sent to you, once a housing deposit is paid. This includes information on how to choose your room, what if you want to move in with friends already on-campus, specific times for choosing a room etc…

Current On-Campus Students with 90+ credits (including Spring semester credits)

As seniors you are not required to live on-campus; however you are eligible to live on-campus.

If you are moving off-campus for your senior year, you will need to fill out an off-campus/commuter application and attend one of the mandatory off-campus meetings (see looking to move off-campus section below), and meet the application deadline. Your credits will be verified, as well as the address provided on the application. Properties must be licensed by the municipality in which you are planing to live.

If you are moving off-campus as a senior and do not intend on living on-campus, you will only pay the $100 tuition deposit. When paying the deposit, please make sure you do not pay the extra $100 for the housing/dorm damage.

If you would like to live on-campus, you will need to pay a $200 housing deposit ($100 for tuition and $100 for housing/dorm damage deposit)

If you will have 100+ credits at the end of the Spring 2010 semester and submit a 2010-2011 housing deposit and contract, you will be emailed regarding filling out an application to live on-campus. This is to verify that you will be attending for the full academic year.

Students looking for one semester housing will be considered for housing, but are not guaranteed to be assigned and are not offered priority housing. You are encouraged to setup up a meeting to review your situation and potential on-campus options.

Current on-campus students that will have less than 90 credits will notice an "HH" and "HC' on their account if a deposit and contract have not been submitted by March 8th. When the housing deposit is paid the "HH" hold is removed. When the housing contract is submitted, the "HC" hold is removed. These holds will prevent a student from registering for classes.

It is improtant to take care of these items early, so that there is no delay in removing a hold or timing does not prevent class registration.

Current On-Campus Students looking to move off-campus

Students with more than 90 credits (including Spring semester, but not summer), will be approved for off-campus as long as their application has been completed, the property is licensed and a mandatory off-campus meeting is attended. You do not need to pay the housing deposit.

Students with less than 90 credits (including Spring semester, but not summer), will need to submit a housing deposit and contract for the 2009-2010 academic year. Applications will be reviewed based on being complete, which includes a licensed property, correct address, and attending a mandatory meeting, along with submitting your housing deposit and contract. The process is based on credits. If you are given permission to live off-campus, your deposit will be credited to your student account. Not all students that apply will receive permission to live off-campus.

Off-Campus Approval/Denials – Students will be notified through YCP email on or before April 15th .

NEW FOR 2010-2011 - there will no longer be paper applications. All applications will be submitted online.

Applications will be available and accepted online starting Friday, January 29, 2010 after 4p.m.

Application deadline is 5 p.m., March 2, 2010

No late applications will be accepted at this time, regardless of credits.

Mandatory off-campus meetings will be posted on the Residence Life website by January 29, 2010.

Off-campus applications are reviewed individually by credits. You will fall into one of the following groups. They are reviewed in the following order and by date within each group. 90+ ; 80-89.5; 70-79.5; 60-69.5; 50-59.5; 40-49.5; 30-39.5; below 30 not considered
