In the event of a psychological emergency, Counseling Services can be contacted directly during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm). A counselor from Counseling Services will respond, assess the situation, person(s) involved, and respond accordingly. As York College of Pennsylvania Counseling Services is not a comprehensive mental health facility, in some cases an immediate referral and/or transport may be arranged to the local hospital. During evening and weekend hours, The Office of Campus Safety (815-1314) should be notified for any psychological emergency. Students living off-campus can go directly to York Hospital ER (851-5320) and will be assessed by a crisis intervention team.
