Fitness Center
The Fitness Center offers over 7,600 square feet of free weights, weight machines and cardiovascular machines.Equipment Includes:
- 4 Recumbant Bikes & 4 Upright Bikes
- 4 Cybex Arc Trainers
- 8 Precor Treadmills
- 6 Precor Elliptical Cross-Trainers & 6 Precor Elliptical Total Body Cross-Trainers
- 1 Sci-Fit Upper Body Ergometer
- 14 Cybex Eagle weight machines (set up in a circuit)
- 4 plate-loaded machines - Leg Press, Hack Squat, Calf Raise, T-Bar row
- 9 different Power Lift stations
- Cybex Modular station with Cable Crossover, Lat Pulldown (2), Seated Row, Tricep Pressdown (2), Assisted Dip/Chin
- Assorted dumbbells & Precor/Icarian benches
Fitness Center Policies:
- Only York College students, faculty & staff and their guests with proper access privileges are allowed to use the fitness center
- All users must complete a fitness center orientation prior to use.
- Individuals under the age of 15 are not permitted in the fitness center at anytime. Any users under the age of 17 must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult at all times.
- Bags and backpacks should be locked in lockers or left in the cubbies.
- Only closed-toe athletic shoes are permitted.
- Jeans and casual pants/shorts are not permitted.
- Full shirts must be worn at all times. Sports bras, tank tops, muscle shirts and mesh shirts are not permitted in any area at any time.
- Refrain from foul language and inappropriate/offensive actions and conversations.
- Towel service is provided through the equipment room.
- Users must wipe down the equipment following use with the provided wipes.
- All open wounds or infectious skin diseases must be covered at all times.
- Intermittent cleanup may occur at any time fo safety/sanitary reasons.
- Only water is permitted beyond the turnstiles, no other food or drink.
- Use equipment for its intended purposes only.
- Limit workouts on cardio machines to 30 minutesduring peak usage hours.
- Strip all bars and return all weights to the proper racks.
- Do not rest bars or dumbbells on benches between sets.
- Never place feet on the benches.
- Weights, bars, plates, etc. should not be leaned against walls, machines, benches or propped in corners.
- Spotters and collars must be used at all times.
- Safety bars must be used at all times in all racks.
- Chalk is not permitted anywhere in the fitness center.
- Cell phone use is prohibited beyond the fitness center desk.
- The use of non-authorized personal trainers is prohibited.
Hours of Operation for Spring 2008
Monday & Wednesday: 6:00 am - 8:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 6:00 am - 11:00 pm
Friday: 6:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 9:00 pm
Sunday: 9:00 am - 11:00 pm
*Prior to using the Fitness Center, all users must complete a Fitness Center orientation given by one of the staff members.*
