Schedules & Dates

  • Schedules will be emailed to each captain, placed on the bulletin board across from the Rock Wall and posted online following the captain’s meetings.
  • Regular season play will begin on Monday, March 22nd with playoffs to follow.
  • Regular season games will be held on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights.
  • Playoff games may be scheduled for any night of the week in order to get all of the games in.

Teams

  • A team will play with five (5) players on the court at a time, this includes a goalie.
  • Co-Ed teams must have at least two females on the court at all times.
  • Teams may have up to 10 players listed on their roster.

Forfeits

  • A team may start and play a game with as few as four (4) players. If for any reason, except injury (including ejection) the number of players drops below four (4), the team will be forced to forfeit.
  • In order to claim a forfeit, a team must have at least four (4) players present and ready to play at game time.
  • If neither team has at least four (4) players at game time it will be considered a double forfeit.

Equipment

  • Proper athletic shoes must be worn.
  • Soccer balls will be provided for each game.
  • All members of a team must wear their team’s assigned color
  • Participants will not be allowed to play in street clothes
  • Only water is allowed in the Field House. (No Gatorade, energy drinks, Vitamin Water, etc.)
  • Please do not kick the balls against the field house walls or curtains.

Rules of the Game

  • The game will consist of two 15-minute halves (running clock, only stopping for injuries), with a three (3) minute halftime
  • Each team will be allowed one (1) one-minute timeout per half
    • Team must be in possession of the ball in order to call a time-out
  • Games resulting in a tie:
    • If the score is tied at the end of regulation during the regular season, it will remain a tie.
    • If the score is tied at the end of regulation during playoffs, there will be one (1) five (5) minute Golden Goal period.
    • If neither team scores during that period, penalty kicks will be the deciding factor. Each team will get five (5) penalty kicks from the top of the key.
    • These kicks will go in alternating order and must be taken by five (5) different players. A coin toss will determine which team gets the first kick.
      • Players taking penalty kicks must have played in the game.
    • If a winner is not determined after these penalty kicks, sudden death penalty kicks will determine the winner. Teams will alternate penalty kicks until a winner is decided.

Substitutions

  • Teams are allowed to make as many substitutions as they would like.
  • Substitutions may be made “on the fly.” This should occur near the “bench area” and the new player may not enter until the player he/she is replacing is off the court.
  • If a player is ejected from the game, they may NOT be replaced. They must leave the playing area immediately.

Start of Game

  • A coin toss will be conducted at the beginning of each contest. The winner of the toss will have the choice to defend a goal or start with the ball at midfield.
  • The losing team is given the remaining choice.
  • At the beginning of the second half teams will switch goals.
  • A coin toss will also be conducted at the beginning of the overtime period as well as for penalty kicks.

Boundaries

  • We will be using the basketball lines as our playing field lines. Therefore, the out-of-bounds lines for the basketball court will be the out-of-bounds lines for the soccer playing area.
  • The ball must wholly cross the goal line or out-of-bounds lines to be considered out-of-bounds.
  • The penalty area (Goal box) is the width of the lane (basketball lines) up to the badminton out-of-bounds lines (tan).
  • Penalty kicks will be taken from the top of the key.
  • If the ball touches the ceiling, the opposing team will get the ball at the point beneath where the ball hit the ceiling.

Playing Regulations

  • Corner kicks:
    • Awarded to the opposing team when a player kicks the ball over his own goal line and will be taken on the corner (no corner-kick arc).
    • The kicker cannot play the ball a second time until it has been played by another player.
      • If the kicker does touch the ball before played by another player the opposing team will receive an indirect kick from that point.

    • The kicker cannot play the ball a second time until it has been played by another player.
      • If the kicker does touch the ball before it is played by another player, the opposing team will receive an indirect kick from that point.
