GET INVOLVED! BECOME AN ALUMNI VOLUNTEER!

The York College Alumni Association offers many programs and events to keep our alumni connected, engaged, and involved with York College.  In many cases, the success of these programs is dependent on the help of our alumni volunteers.  Your time as a volunteer benefits your alma mater, fellow alumni and current students in remarkable ways.  Listed below are a few of the enjoyable and rewarding alumni volunteer opportunities:

Regional Alumni Chapter Events & Executive Committees - Our Regional Alumni Chapters hold events in areas where groups of alumni live and work.  To date, the Alumni Association recognizes five regional chapters:  Delaware Valley, New York, Chesapeake, New Jersey, DC and Susquehanna Valley.  If you live or work in one of these regional chapters there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer.  Join the local planning executive committee and/or help run individual chapter events.  To learn more about upcoming events, please contact the President of the regional chapter or the Alumni Office.

Fall Fest & Spring Alumni Weekend - The tradition of Fall Fest weekend has expanded to include a Spring alumni reunion, also held on campus.  These weekends include a variety of alumni events and programs.  With so many events taking place, we have an even greater need for alumni volunteers.  Volunteer opportunities include: working an information table, giving campus tours, selling hot drinks and food under the Fall Fest and Spring Alumni Weekend tents, running registration at the weekend events, and more!  Contact the Alumni Office if you'd like to volunteer this spring or next fall.

Career Contact Program  - Students and alumni frequently experience difficulty beginning the job search process.  They need assistance in defining their career goals, learning more about career fields in which they have developed an interest, and focusing their career search process in realistic and constructive ways.  Alumni can be very helpful in this process by serving as sources of information about their own careers and experiences.  As Alumni Career Contact volunteers, alumni interact with York College students or other alumni through e-mail, phone conversations or meetings.  Alumni Career Contacts provide information about their careers, answer questions and offer advice or guidance on additional directions to explore.  They may also provide referrals or suggest other sources for further information, as appropriate.

Student Alumni Association- The York College of Pennsylvania Student Alumni Association is a student-run organization that creates student awareness of the York College Alumni Association services.  The SAA will strive to promote a positive experience, build pride and loyalty to create future alumni leaders, encourage interaction between students and alumni, and provide members with fun leadership opportunities.  The SAA will work closely with the York College Alumni Relations staff.

Volunteering for YCP doesn't have to take a lot of time, but it provides a real service to the college and keeps you connected with your alma mater.  If you want to volunteer for one or more of these programs, you may respond on-line, or return the registration form (in pdf format) to the Alumni Office, York College of Pennsylvania, York, PA 17405-7199 or by fax (717)-849-1643.
