York College of Pennsylvania traces its roots in York County back to the York County Academy, which earned a charter to educate in 1787.  Since then, the College has taken many forms – York Collegiate Institute and York Junior College before becoming today’s York College of Pennsylvania.  While the institution has evolved over time, rising to meet the needs of the community, one thing has remained true – the mission to provide York College's educational programs with a superior degree of efficiency, in order to maintain the lowest feasible costs for students.  This has been possible through the assistance of alumni, parents, and friends, who support the College through gifts to the Annual Fund, scholarships, bequests, and special appeals.

Your support is crucial.  Now more than ever, gifts to York College are necessary to provide the quality education to the next generation of teachers, nurses, engineers, historians, psychologists, actors, musicians, accountants, and software engineers.   We ask you today, on behalf of the 5,200 students at York College of Pennsylvania, for your support.
