It has been said that success needs no excuses. However, when York College alumni explain their success following graduation, they frequently cite the talent and personal dedication of the faculty.
Jason Smith, Operations Specialist, A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. "My experience at York College was the best time of my life. I chose York because of its size and because I did not want to be just a number. This allowed me to establish meaningful interactions with both faculty and classmates." While at York College, Jason was a member of the baseball team and recipient of the Jack Jaquet Fighting Heart Award, one of three major awards given to York athletes. He now resides in St. Louis, MO, where he's an employee at the brokerage firm of A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. Jason hopes to become a trader someday.
Dr. Deborah M. McMillan, Physician Dr. Deborah M. McMillan feels her B.S. in medical technology from York definitely prepared her for the rigors of medical school. Currently in family practice in the York area, Dr. McMillan earned her medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. While at Hahnemann, Dr. McMillan received the Certificate of Distinction for her academic excellence in the field of internal medicine. Following her studies at Hahnemann, Dr. McMillan completed a residency in family medicine at Lancaster General Hospital. Encouragement on the part of the York College faculty is what gave her the confidence to achieve her career goals.
