Transfer Student Nursing Criteria

The Nursing Department has available a limited number of spaces for transfer students eligible to start clinical in Fall 2015 only.

Applicants must have successfully completed the following courses before Fall 2015 to be eligible for clinical.

• First Year Seminar

• PSY 100 - General Psychology

• SOC 100 - Introduction to Sociology

• FCO105 - Rhetorical Communication

• CHM 122 - Principles of General and Organic Chemistry

• BIO 150 - Biology I

• BIO 151 - Biology I Lab

• BIO 220 - Human Anatomy and Physiology I

• BIO 221 - Human Anatomy and Physiology I Lab

• BIO 222 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II

• BIO 223 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II Lab

• BIO 230 - Microbiology

• BIO 231 - Microbiology Lab

• NUR 201 - Nursing Human Development and Health Care

• NUR 202 - Nutrition

• FCO215 - Technical & Scientific Communication

Acceptance criteria for transfer credits:

  • Must have a minimum of 3.0 in each required science course
  • Must have not repeated any science course
  • Students must meet all other grade criteria for YCP (i.e. have a minimum of a 2.0 in common core and supportive courses)
  • Science courses must have been completed within the 5 years prior to Fall 2015 (first clinical semester)
  • Cumulative GPA from last institution attended full-time must be a minimum of 2.8
