GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
York College welcomes applications from students enrolled in a challenging college preparatory program who have the desire to study within a competitive curriculum. The York College Admissions Committee reviews applications on an individual basis through rolling admission. When looking at the application, a number of factors are taken into consideration, most importantly, the student's college preparatory courses. The student's grade point average, class rank, involvement in activities, and combined SAT score are considered. Letters of recommendation are also encouraged.
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE

Submit an application along with non-refundable $30 fee and an official transcript of secondary school work. Students with a prescheduled visit will receive an application fee waiver that may be applied only to the application.

Include a recommendation from high school official (where available).

Submit scores from SAT test taken during the junior or senior year.

TRANSFERS

Transfer students from two or four year institutions are welcome.

College transcript required; credit given for most courses with "C" grade or better.

Academic Achievement Scholarships
Trustee Scholarship
A competitive full tuition scholarship for ten entering first-time, full-time freshman who graduated in the top one-fifth of their high school class and have a combined SAT I score of 1210 or higher with a minimum score of 540 on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 29 (optional writing test required) with a minimum score of 24 on the math and English sections.
Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarship
$26,000 over 4 years - $6,500 awarded annually
A scholarship for entering first-time, full-time freshman who were valedictorians or salutatorians of their high schools and have a combined SAT I score of 1150 or higher with a minimum score of 540 on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 26 (optional writing test required) with a minimum score of 24 on the math and English sections.
Dean's Academic Scholarship
$18,000 over 4 years - $4,500 awarded annually
A scholarship for one hundred fifty entering first-time, full-time freshman who have graduated in the upper two-fifths of their high school class and have a combined SAT I score of 1150 or higher with a minimum score of 540 on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 26 (optional writing test required) with a minimum score of 24 on the math and English sections.

COMPUTER NETWORK
E-mail, library catalog search capability, online course registration, and full Internet access is provided on the high speed campus-wide computer network which is directly wired to all student residence rooms, offices and classrooms, and is also available at off campus locations via modem. Over 300 up-to-date computers in 14 computer labs, and 150 software packages are available for student use.
