Dual Enrollment Programs

York College of Pennsylvania's Dual Enrollment program partners with area school districts to offer high school juniors and seniors, who can show they are ready, the chance to earn college credit while completing their high school requirements. The program is designed to encourage a broader range of students to experience postsecondary education by allowing the student to concurrently enroll in postsecondary courses and to receive both secondary and postsecondary credit for the coursework at a reduced cost to the student.

Dual Enrollment Requirements

  • Attend a school district offering a Dual Enrollment program.
  • Junior or senior year of high school.
  • Have at least a 3.0 (B) unweighted cumulative grade point average.
  • Have the minimum scores on one of the following aptitude tests:
    SAT - 1000 Critical Reading and Math
    PSAT - 100 Critical Reading and Math
    ACT - 21 Composite

How to Apply for the Dual Enrollment Program

Interested students should complete the following application materials:

Dual Enrollment students can register for Fall 2014 courses beginning Monday, June 2nd. Students can schedule an appointment by contacting Kathy Shaub at 717.815.1220 or kshaub@ycp.edu.

*Please note that students who are interested in taking a mathematics course must have approval prior to scheduling an appointment. Please contact Kathy Shaub for details.

Dual Enrollment 2014-2015 Costs

Tuition: $290 per credit
Administrative Fee: $145

3 Credit Course
Tuition: $870
Total: $1015

4 Credit Course
Tuition: $1,160
Total: $1,305

The above amounts do not include the cost of books and/or materials. These costs are the responsibility of the student and may be purchased directly from the College Bookstore.

Dual Enrollment Courses

Students may view the Recommended Course List  specifically for particpants in Dual Enrollment. Courses on this list may not be offered every semester. Each section of the course has a maximum enrollment which may limit availability.The current schedule of classes is accessible online. This allows you to review available courses in specific academic areas. Please be aware the Open Seat number is a “real time” number and can change between the time of a search and actual enrollment. Other Students

High school students whose school district is not affiliated with the York College Dual Enrollment Program or students who are homeschooled, may still apply for Dual Enrollment. The procedure and costs are the same.
