29. Can freshmen have cars on campus?
There is no restriction on automobiles at York College. All students, regardless of class status, can have a car on campus for a $40 yearly registration fee.
30. What if I get sick?
The College Health Center is staffed with a full-time nurse, part-time nurses, and a part-time physician. The Center has scheduled hours and staff available seven days a week and has an on-call system for emergencies when the Center is not open.
31. Does York College accept AP credit?
Advanced Placement credit is awarded with a minimum score of 3 on most AP exams. Depending on the course, credits vary from 3 to 8 credits per exam.
32. How's the food?
At the Johnson Dining Room, open continuously from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., students can select from a wide variety such as the Chef's Choice, The Grille, two large salad bars, the Lite Line, The Deli, The Pizza Shoppe, The Sweets Cart, frozen yogurt and ice cream, soups, breads, and refreshments. The Sparts Den offers "fast food" including a Pizza Hut Express. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are served during the week while Brunch and Dinner are available on weekends. Lite fare is available between the regular meal hours. All students living in the traditional residence halls and suites must purchase a meal plan.
33. What percent of faculty hold doctorates?
85% of York College faculty currently hold doctorates or terminal degrees. With salaries in the 90th percentile nationally, York is able to attract highly qualified faculty from all over the country.
34. Does York College have an Honors Program?
The York College Honors Program seeks to provide challenging and engaging experiences for academically motived and accomplished students. The program offeres coursework, special academic and career advising, and extracurricular enrichment activities to this select group of undergraduate students.
To be eligible for participation, students must apply and be accepted to York College. Preference will be given to students who have achieved a combined SAT score of 1210 or higher and who rank in the top 1/5 of their high school graduating class.

York College maintains a 90% job placement rate within the first 6 months of the students graduation.
36. What is the retention rate from freshmen to sophomore years?
