Does the College offer support to my child in preparing for a job search?

The goal of many college-bound students is to improve their job-related skills to increase their job prospects upon graduation. Classroom studies are significant, but there are other facets to improving the marketability of one's job skills. York College students are provided comprehensive career services, including career option exploration, job search assistance, and skill development in planning for lifetime goals.

  • Seminars and Workshops - A variety of seminars and workshops are available to help students with career planning and job search issues. Topics include Resume Writing, Interviewing Skills, Job Search Skills, Preparing for an Internship, Graduate School Selection, and How to Work a Job Fair.

  • Individual Career Counseling - Students may meet individually with a career counselor to assist them in developing action plans related to the career planning and job search process.

  • Internships - Career-related experience is a tremendous asset for students as they begin their job search. The Internship Program at York College of Pennsylvania helps provide students with a "competitive edge" in their field.

  • Study Abroad - Each year York College works with interested students to arrange semester-long programs of study with cooperating colleges and universities abroad. York College currently has study abroad agreements with the University College of Ripon-York St. John, England; Cemanahuac Educational Community, Mexico; Pontificia Universidad Catolica, Ecuador; and Honam University, South Korea.
