Designed to prepare you for the next level of your education career, this program helps you focus on the skills you need to grow into a leadership role or specialized area of study.

Prepare for the next big role by specializing in Educational Leadership. With the guidance of experienced faculty, Master of Education graduates find jobs in private and public schools that lead to the certification as a K-12 Principal with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Students also have the opportunity to specialize in Reading or Special Education – two areas of certification that are in high demand in schools throughout the country. With flexible evening and weekend classes, Master of Education students can advance their careers while still working in the classroom. And all of our classes are taught by expert full-time and adjunct faculty who bring a wealth of real world experience, with class settings that allow for individual attention.

  • Educational Leadership

    Educational Leadership

    The Educational Leadership specialization prepares educators for positions of administrative leadership in the public or private school setting leading to Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as a K-12 Principal.

    Candidates in the Educational Leadership program must complete a one-semester (three credit) administrative internship. A two-semester (two credits each semester) option is also available. As much as the internship is a capstone experience for the program, the candidate must complete all course requirements prior to beginning the internship. An Administrative Internship Manual may be obtained from the coordinator of the Educational Leadership program.

  • Reading Specialist

    Reading Specialist

    The Reading Specialist specialization provides educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to become certified as K-12 Reading Specialists.

    Candidates in the Reading Specialist program must complete two semesters (six credits) of practicum experience. All reading specialization courses must be completed prior to the first semester of reading practicum. Reading practica are completed following completion of specialization coursework. Updated clearances (within one year of practicum) are required for practicum experience completed in local districts. Guidelines for reading practicum will be provided by a program advisor.

  • Special Education

    Special Education

    The Special Education specialization prepares educators for special education positions in the public or private school setting leading to certification as a special educator.

    Candidates in the Special Education program must complete a professional practicum (one credit) and a one-semester (three credits) student teaching experience. Guidelines for this will be provided by a program advisor.
