The following MBA scholarships are available each academic year. Applications for 2013-2014 are due to the MBA Office by April 1, 2013.
THE GEORGE C. HYDE, JR. HONORARY AWARD
The fund was established in May 1980 by the foundation president, Louis J. Appell, Jr., in honor of Mr. Hyde, who was the first MBA graduate of York College to attain a 4.0 average. Preference is given to students pursing the Master's Degree in Business Administration. Second preference shall be for baccalaureate degree candidates in Business majors. MBA candidates must have the recommendation of the MBA Office and preference is given to candidates not otherwise eligible for financial support and who would find it financially burdensome to undertake a course of advanced study. Applicants must have a current Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) and a York College Graduate Student Financial Aid Application available from the Financial Aid Office.
Preference shall be given to:
(a) a full-time graduate student pursuing the Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA);
(b) a graduate of an accredited college who demonstrated academic excellence in his/her undergraduate work – and who shows promise for success in a business profession; and,
(c) is a resident of York County.
Candidates who are pursuing an MBA must apply for The George D. Everhart Scholarship through the MBA Office. A student may receive a scholarship to the full extent of the fund earnings in order to provide as close to a full scholarship as possible. Selection of the Everhart Scholarship recipient shall stress academic excellence without regard to financial need. An Everhart Scholar must maintain a 3.0 cumulative gpa to have the scholarship continue for succeeding terms.
