Josh Beland ’11 (York, Pa.) works to improve processes in the emergency department.
Josh, an emergency department nurse at York Hospital, was recently chosen to chair the Performance Improvement (PI) Committee.
“My job is to audit charts in order to improve processes in the emergency department,” he said.
Josh, a nursing grad, was also named the 2013 Clinical Nurse of the Year at York Hospital.
“I’m very honored to be recognized for my work and contributions to the hospital,” he said.
His professors at York College prepared him for life as a nurse, which is why he continually refers friends to the Nursing program.
“I learned so much from my professors,” Josh said. “They are very experienced and know a lot about the profession.”
In addition to his education, Josh’s involvement at work has set him on a great path for a successful career.
“I’ve learned so much from being a part of the PI Committee,” he added. “It’s the easiest way to learn and become acquainted with your job.”
