Jared Lowy ’06 (Springfield, N.J.) oversees various aspects of on-air content at Madison Square Garden (MSG).
As the manager of multi-platform content, Jared also manages the ticker for MSG and MSG+, regional sports networks in the New York City area.
“Our ticker continuously remains on air, therefore we are able to promote our programming and update fans with scores and information on a continuous basis,” he said.
In addition, Jared directs video on-demand services for MSG and MSG Interactive Channels.
“Getting the opportunity to work and experience some great moments at MSG has been rewarding,” he said. “I’ve had the honor to work three Rangers retirement nights, Rangers Eastern Conference Finals games and the first Knicks playoff series in over 10 years.”
Jared, a sport management grad, was prepared for exactly what life would be like after college by Professor Tim Newman.
“I credit him with not only helping me graduate, but preparing me to enter the real world with the knowledge and experience I needed in order to succeed,” said Jared, a recipient of a PromaxBDA Gold award for his work as an associate producer.
While Jared was prepared, he reminds current students to try new things in the field.
“Take a chance,” he added. “Try something new. I knew I wanted to work in sports, so when this opportunity came along, I took it and learned on the job using the foundational skills from York College.”
