Dan Stahl ’07 (Baltimore, Md.) is responsible for creating new business connections for the Baltimore Orioles.
Dan, a sport management grad, started out with the Orioles in 2008 working as a group sales account executive and was promoted during the summer of 2010 to his current position as a new sales account executive. He is responsible for creating new business opportunities for the Orioles through ticket sales, such as season passes, group tickets and suite sales.
“The greatest thing about York College’s sport management program is that it exposed me to all aspects of the sports industry,” he said. “Whether the situation is related to sales, marketing, public relations or stadium operations, I feel prepared.”
During Dan’s first year with the Orioles he was able to participate in the creation of Field Trip Day, which is now an annual event with more than 7,000 students in attendance.
“Field Trip Day is a fun, educational event for students grades 3 through 8,” he said. “I was in charge of sales for the event during its first three years and was able to grow it into one of the top annual group events at Camden Yards.”
Dan advises students to get involved on campus as early as possible.
“During the school year make sure you are involved with the Sport Management Student Association and at the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center,” he said. “The more activities and associations you are involved with the better.”
