Heidi Freeland ’11 (York, Pa.) began working at York College as an admissions counselor in July 2013. In her position, she represents Northern New Jersey, New York and Eastern Pennsylvania.
“I am happy to be back at the school that inspired my passion for higher education,” said Heidi, who expects to complete her master’s degree in student affairs and higher education in 2014. “Higher education is where I plan to spend my career.”
Previously, Heidi, a public relations grad, was a residence director and admissions counselor at two other institutions before she was given the opportunity to come back to York.
“Being able to spread the word about York College to prospective students is very satisfying,” she said. “It’s an amazing feeling to know that every student who joins the YCP family will have a life-changing and rewarding experience. It makes me feel so proud to be able to be a part of that experience and journey.”
While a student at York, Heidi had the opportunity to complete an internship at Inside Out Creative, a public relations and marketing firm in downtown York.
“Both my experiences inside and outside of the classroom prepared me for graduate school and a career in higher education,” she added.
