Kasse Brock ’12 (Roscoe, N.Y.) didn’t settle until she found the perfect career to fit her personal goals.
After graduating with her degree in Public Relations from York College, Kasse became a timeshare marketing representative for the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center in Callicoon, N.Y.
“I was able to communicate with timeshare owners on a personal level,” she said. “Although I thoroughly enjoyed my position with Villa Roma Resort, I longed for a routine.”
Kasse was then hired as a news reporter at a local newspaper, The Walton Reporter.
“The Walton Reporter led me to a new found appreciation for local news and allowed me to enhance my skills as a professional communicator,” she said.
Two months into this position, she accepted a job with her current employer, Big V Tours, as an administrative assistant and tour specialist.
“My position with Big V Tours involves all aspects of my Public Relations degree, and then some,” she said. “I have finally found a perfect fit close to my hometown.”
Kasse advises current students to search for the right position when choosing a career.
“There is such a variety of positions that your degree can fill,” she said. “Find what is right for you and don’t settle.”
