Amanda Jones ’11 (York, Pa.) provides an extraordinary opportunity for performers to showcase their talents.
Amanda has been employed through Hershey Entertainment and Resorts for the last year as the entertainment projects coordinator for Hersheypark, where her primary responsibility is booking and coordinating the Take The Stage At Hersheypark program.
Take The Stage At Hersheypark allows performance groups such as dance teams, marching bands and show choirs to perform in the park. Amanda facilitates administrative and on-site operations for the program, while executing various entertainment projects throughout the year in her department. In the past year, Amanda has seen program sales increase by more than 60 percent.
“I feel gratified that my hard work and dedication has provided performers with these opportunities,” she said. “Performers are able to gain exposure and spend a fabulous day at ‘The Sweetest Place On Earth.’”
Amanda’s professors and classes at York College taught her how to present herself professionally and to analyze her surroundings.
“They gave me the confidence and poise to take on whatever goals I set for myself,” she said.
Amanda, a theatre grad, advises future and current students to constantly project their finest qualities.
“In the entertainment industry you get one chance to make that dazzling first impression,” she added.
