Jason Connors ’97 (Red Lion, Pa.) has placed professionals in jobs in more than 40 states and four countries.
In 2002 Jason, a mass communication grad, founded AllSearch Professional Staffing, an employment placement company specializing in accounting, finance, banking/mortgage, human resources, information technology, engineering, insurance, sales/management and marketing.
“Since its founding, the company has grown tremendously and helped thousands of professionals find jobs,” he said.
Before deciding to go into business for himself, Jason worked in the radio industry.
“Thanks to the experience I gained through working at the College’s radio station, WVYC 99.7, I was able to land my first job with WSBA/WARM 103 in York,” he said. “This job set the stage for all of the success I have had in my career.”
Jason was hired as the station’s promotional director, but quickly gained interest in the business side of the industry, and moved into the sales department.
“I was then promoted to sales and branch manager, with one of my clients being a staffing agency,” he said. “That introduction led me to a staffing agency in central Pennsylvania, where I worked before founding AllSearch.”
In addition to his experience with WVYC, adjunct professor Lou Castriota served as an inspiration to Jason during his time at York College.
“Lou had real-world experience in broadcast communications,” he said. “His knowledge of the industry was fascinating to me.”
Jason advises current students to get started early when it comes to preparing for their first job in the industry.
“Don’t wait until your senior year or a month before you graduate,” he said. “Find out what you want to do for a living, and then get involved.”
