Jeremy Hamsher ’03 (Enola, Pa.) manages and oversees the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Jeremy, an engineering technician III at CET Engineering Services, recently managed a $20 million upgrade of the East Pennsboro Township wastewater treatment plant from start to finish.
“The ability to multitask was a key element in the management of the plant upgrade and a skill I learned from my professors at York College,” he said. “ I had three to four separate contractors and 30-plus workers doing different tasks all over the plant that I had to keep up with and answer questions for.”
Another skill Jeremy, a Biology grad, took away from York College was the ability to write well.
“This has paid huge dividends for me in my career when communicating with colleagues and clients,” he said.
Jeremy, whose career is not typical for a Biology major, has this recommendation for current students.
“Don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone in your career path,” he said. “You may find yourself doing something completely different than you imagined and finding out that you love it.”
