Stabler Department of Nursing

If you’ve dreamed of spending a career improving the health and lives of other people, find out what a nursing degree can do for you.

We think you learn best by doing. There is no shortage of hands-on experience at York College — even in our classrooms, where we have state-of-the-art simulation mannequins to help you practice patient care.

But simulation is just the beginning. Our clinical sites put you right in the action. It’s no coincidence that we have a thriving nursing program with nearby WellSpan York Hospital just down the street. It’s just one of many clinical sites that give you the opportunity to learn with real world experiences. You’ll be directly taught by passionate faculty, nearly all with a terminal degree. That kind of one-on-one attention means you have someone looking out for you as you go through our rigorous yet exciting courses. We are proud to say our nursing students are sought after by employers, as we have graduates working at hospitals and care facilities throughout the region.

Congratulations to the Class of May 2016 on a 98.2% NCLEX passing rate!

York College nursing students have numerous chances to do real world patient care.
You'll have numerous opportunities to work directly with patients before you graduate, on top of simulations right on campus.

  • APA writing style guidance

When you're a nursing student, you'll need to become very familiar with American Psychological Association (APA) Style, an editorial style adopted by the social and behavioral sciences. Students follow APA guidelines to ensure clear and consistent presentation of written material.

York College nursing students may use an APA template to help them format their written assignments. The template sets up a blank document in APA 6th edition format and automatically formats the reference list.
