From collecting data to analyzing laboratory results, students in York College’s Medical Laboratory Science program are gaining the skills they need to make an impact in the world of medicine. Whether you see yourself developing new medications for the pharmaceutical industry, conducting medical research in a hospital lab, or finding new ways to bring comfort to animals through veterinary studies – York College can give you the tools to get there.

Our students spend three years of classroom experience at the college before diving into a year of a clinical study at an area hospital. With the guidance of our experienced faculty and the technical skills learned on the job, our graduates go on to pursue challenging careers.

Your future in Medical Laboratory Science

York College’s Medical Laboratory Science graduates have started their careers with the Centers for Disease Control, in hospital laboratories or with the military. We also have affiliations set up with Wellspan York Hospital and Reading Hospital. What can you do with this degree? Laboratory positions are available for many potential employers, including:

Our cross-disciplinary Allied Health program runs in coordination with Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences departments. It offers hands-on, clinical lab experience in professional areas distinct from medicine, dentistry, and nursing, with nearby York Hospital offering the perfect setting to learn.
