Department of Physical Sciences
Students who pursue a major in the Physical Sciences department gain the skills demanded in today's highly technical world. We prepare you for careers in scientific and/or technical fields by developing your professional fitness, your proficiency with the problem solving techniques of mathematics and science, and your expertise in using modern equipment and software. Our majors also incorporate a variety of out-of-classroom learning experiences such as co-ops and internships with our partners in local industry.

Keith Peterman, professor of chemistry, wrote an article for the Huffington Post titled "Obama Inauguration Through Lens of Climate Change."
"Although much has already been written about the second inauguration of President Obama, I would like to briefly view it through the narrowly focused lens of climate change. I was among the sea of humanity who gathered in Washington on January 21 to witness the event."
