Students learn nursing skills in labs located in Diehl Hall. They practice on simulators, task trainers, and sometimes on their classmates!
Students benefit from practicing a skill in the lab before they perform it on an actual patient - and the patient benefits by receiving safe care. Examples of skills learned in the lab:
Students use patient monitors, defibrillator, ventilator, ECG machines, bladder scanner, and intravenous infusion pumps.
All 8 beds are equipped with otoscope, ophthalmoscope, sphygmomanometer, oxygen, suction, sharps disposal container, and bedside cart stocked with supplies.
The Media Lab has five viewing stations. Students come here to watch videos or check out practice kits.
The Diehl Hall computer lab contains 44 stations. Student often work together in this room on group projects.
