Sport Management Barbeque

We are excited to announce that, in honor of the retirements of two members of the York College Sport Management faculty, SMSA will be hosting a barbecue.  The purpose of this event is to celebrate the careers of Dr. Nina Grove and Professor Richard Achtzehn.  Both were instrumental in the early development of the York College Athletics department through their service as coaches in many sports.

The Sport Management Barbeque will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 12:00-4:00 pm.

The barbeque will feature delicious food, an exciting atmosphere for alumni, faculty, students and friends of the program to connect and reconnect, fun games and the opportunity to tour some of the new facilities on campus, such as Diehl Hall, home of the Sport Management Program.  This is a great opportunity for former athletes of these great YCP coaches to come back and wish them well as they move forward!

The cost for the barbeque is $10 per adult/$5 per child. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Sport Management Student Association.

We hope to see you on April 18th! Online pre-registration, through Alumni Relations, is available.  Please direct any questions to Billy Malewich ( or Zach Myers (
