Sport Management Major
The Sport Management major provides students with academic and practical experiences in the diverse field of sport. We work with you to develop comprehensive leadership and technical skills that are valued in the sport management industry. With small class sizes as well as a very low faculty to student ratio, we strive to push our students to their full potentials.
Careers in Sport Management
Our graduates go on to work in a variety of areas of the sport industry.
The positions can be in:
- High School and College Athletics Departments
- Professional Sports Organizations
- Professional Tour Events (PGA, LPGA)
- Sport Governing Bodies (USTA, IOC, NCAA, NBA)
- Sport Marketing Companies
- Sport and Fitness Facilities
- Sport Camps
- Sport Goods Manufacturers and Retailers
Alumni Stories
Erik Eitel ’11 (Washington, D.C.) took risks that allowed him to stay in the nation’s capital.
Erik, a sport management grad, works for a small start-up company called GovLoop, which provides original training material to help government employees do their jobs better.
Job and Internships
Through many resources, faculty in our program learn of many jobs and internships for students and alumni. We believe that it is important to share this information with you on a regular basis. Check out our job and internship postings.
Work Experience
This is our capstone course that our graduating seniors must take before they can graduate. With a required 450 hours the course goes above and beyond other internships and has resulted in numerous positions for our alumni. Learn more.
