Recreation and Leisure Administration Major

Helping individuals, families and organizations make the most of time away from work is the basis for an exciting and interactive career in Recreation and Leisure Administration. In the Recreation and Leisure Administration major, you can choose either a Community emphasis or a Therapeutic emphasis.

Careers in Recreation and Leisure Administration

What can I do with a Degree in Recreation and Leisure Administration?

  • Plan and implement activities for people of various ages and abilities.
  • Work with youth and adult recreational sports.
  • Plan and implement special events for commercial and non-profit agencies.
  • Manage facilities both indoors and out.
  • Support our Service men and women by providing recreational opportunities for them and their families through Morale Wellfare and Recreation.
  • Improve the quality of life for individuals with a variety of permanent and temporary physical, developmental and behavioral disabilities.

Brooke (Laur) Murphy ’11 (Westminster, Md.) always wanted to be a wedding coordinator; she had a fascination with weddings and planning events.
