Spanish Education Major

Our Spanish Education major is designed to prepare students for a career in teaching Spanish at any level from kindergarten through grade 12. Our major includes coursework in General Education, English and Humanities, Spanish, literature and culture and professional preparation, as well a professional semester of student teaching. Our major also provides instruction and practical experiences in determining effective instructional approaches in teaching the five skill areas of foreign language: listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing and cultural competence.

Career opportunities for graduates in Spanish Education are varied. Students work in various school districts dealing directly with children, families, groups and communities.
