Student teaching through the York College education program

General Music Education (B.S.)

Help the next generation fall in love with music just like you did, with student teaching experience and a full range of vocal, instrumental, and general music knowledge at your disposal.

From helping an elementary school student discover an instrument for the first time to developing the advanced vocal techniques of a high school choir, music education has vast opportunities to combine a love of music and teaching others. Our aim is to develop transformative teachers, and our small class instruction and expert faculty help cultivate an environment for you to succeed.

You’ll also have the ability to perform in any of numerous choirs and bands, take one-on-one lessons, and teach in a classroom. This degree prepares students for professional teacher certification (K-12) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. An audition is required for admission into our music program. Get your career in music education started today.
