Middle Level Education Major

The Middle Level program provides students with the knowledge, skills, experience, and disposition to be an effective educator of students in grades 4-8. Middle Level majors will have the opportunity to specialize in one of four concentration areas: English/Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies. The required professional preparation courses, in conjunction with valuable field experiences, will enable you to meet the many challenges faced by middle level teachers, including the ability to empower your own students with the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become lifelong learners. As well, the Department seeks to educate future teachers who are committed to their own lifelong learning. The Middle Level Education (MLE) Program prepares students for licensure in grades 4-8, in specified content areas.
