Groove Ensemble

The Groove Ensemble is a percussion ensemble with a twist. The group performs ecelectic repertoire from around the world, and its recent concerts have included arrangements of Indonesian and African music, along with pieces by Steve Reich, Bob Marley, Jeff Beck and Led Zeppelin. The ensemble's instrumentation is similarly eclectic, encompassing all sorts of percussive objects - not only drums and mallet instruments, but also silverware, buckets and the human body. Groove rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00-3:15 in Wolf 114. Interested students should contact Prof. Jeff Stabley at jstabley@ycp.edu.
