Music Community Programs Schedule

The YCP Summer Music Experience for Advancing Musicians offer an intense and experience-oriented five day schedule of making music and improving musicianship. In addition to theory, aural skills, master classes, lessons, workshops and ensemble rehearsals, the YCP Summer Music Experience offers a unique variety of elective classes students may select. 

The Elementary and Junior YCP Summer Music Experience camps offer a unique half day experience where curious students can explore instruments and develop their musical skills.  

YCP Summer Music Experience

The YCP Summer Music Experience will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Registration on Monday, July 15, will open at 8:15 a.m.

Daily Schedule 

  • 9:00 - 10:00 Music Theory/Aural Skills
  • 10:00 - 11:00 Rehearsals in your specific track
  • 11:00 - 12:00 Performance Classes/Workshops in your specific track
  • 12:00 - 1:00 Lunch
  • 1:00 - 2:00  Rehearsals in your specific track
  • 2:00 - 3:00 Open Jam / Practice / Lessons / Activities
  • 3:00 - 4:00 Electives
  • 4:00 - 5:00 Optional Lessons

YCP Elementary Summer Music Experience

The YCP Elementary Summer Music Experience will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily. Registration on Monday, July 8, will open at 8:30 a.m.

  • Kodaly Singing and Orff Instruments
  • Exploring Music Activities
  • Hands-on Instrumental Petting Zoo
  • Expression in Music Activities
  • Snack Break
  • Large Group Musical Activities

YCP Junior Summer Music Experience

The YCP Junior Summer Music Experience will operate from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Registration on Monday, July 8, will open at 12:15 p.m. 

Junior Daily Activities:

  • Advanced Chamber Ensembles
  • Music Theory and Aural Skills Sessions
  • Instrumental Discovery Time
  • Recorder Karate
  • Snack breaks / Pizza Party Friday

Optional Private Lessons

  • Private lessons will be available to junior students in all areas, except voice.
