If you’re interested in expressing ideas in ways that help other people to understand our world, becoming a Graphic Designer may be the way for you to make your mark. Opportunities are everywhere. Graphic designers are valuable members of multi-disciplinary teams that produce many different kinds of communication, both in print and on screen, flat and 3-dimensional, linear and interactive, and public and private.
At York College, you’ll explore the exciting world of Graphic Design as well as learn the skills you’ll need to make your ideas come to life. In intensive hands-on studio courses in both digital and traditional processes and media, you’ll learn the tools and techniques necessary to take your ideas from concept to realization. Internships, independent studies, exhibition opportunities and working with nationally known visiting artists give you industry experience and exposure. Membership in YCP’s active AIGA (American Institute of the Graphic Arts) Student Group as well as participation in our Graphic Design Study Abroad program in Milan, Italy adds more facets to your growing network of creative contacts. Under the mentorship of faculty – professors who are all working, practicing and exhibiting artists – you’ll develop a portfolio and skill set that will enable you to reach your career or post-graduate study goals.
