Allied Health

Allied health professionals are clinical health care professionals distinct from medicine, dentistry and nursing. They work in health care teams to make the health care system function by providing a range of diagnostic, technical, therapeutic and direct patient care. They provide support services that are critical to the other health profesisonals they work with and the patients they serve.

Faculty Spotlight

Mark Simmons has been the program director and instructor of the Respiratory Care Program since 1990. He is also the coordinator of the Allied Health Programs at York Hospital. In 1996 Mark received the AARC Education Practitioner of the year award. In 2011 he was chosen as Outstanding Academic Advisor at York College.
