At York College, scholarships are awarded to music majors who have excelled in music performance. Students are selected on the basis of their music audition, three letters of recommendation, their personal statement and academic achievement. The scholarships vary in amount according to the quality of the audition and the need of the recipient as established by the Financial Aid Office.
A variety of academic scholarships are available to music students, most notably the Dean’s Scholarship (one-third tuition) and the Presidential Scholarship (one-half tuition). These scholarships are competitive, and are based on SAT scores, high school GPA and class standing.
In addition, the Division of Music regularly uses qualified work-study students. Applicants interested in work-study positions must contact the Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility.
For more information on scholarship eligibility requirements, please contact Dr. Frederick Schreiner, Director, Division of Music, (717)-815-1258 or email at fschrein@ycp.edu.
