Biology touches and impacts every aspect of human existence from understanding, diagnosing and treating disease states to assessing the impact of our actions on the environment. The Department of Biological Sciences at York College provides students with a deep understanding of molecular/cellular and organismal/population aspects of biology. Our core curriculum encompasses cell biology, taxonomy, genetics and ecology. Upper level electives provide opportunities to explore specific topic areas in greater depth. Cutting-edge techniques and lab equipment, hands-on courses, and a dedicated faculty combine to provide a relevant and rigorous undergraduate experience that prepares students for future academic and career pursuits.
