The Department of History and Political Science

As academic disciplines, history and political science are excellent complements: the course of human events is, in large measure, a reflection of who governed, and to what ends. At York College, the History and Political Science Department offers a wide variety of courses in the history of America, Europe, and other areas of the world, as well as courses in the major sub-fields of political science.

Building on a foundation of core courses appropriate for their discipline, our faculty members work with students to help them develop their own individual interests within the context of a comprehensive and flexible program of study. Students find our programs rigorous, fascinating and fun, and our graduates go on to success in a wide range of careers and graduate programs.
