The Business Department at York College offers 9 majors and an MBA program that blend academic theory with hands-on application. Our programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP). Our alumni consistently remark about the practical understanding they gained to complement classroom learning – a distinct advantage when starting and advancing a career in business.
The Common Professional Component is the strong foundation on which our accredited business program is built. All business students, regardless of major, take a core group of classes that serve as the backbone of our curriculum. This core ensures that Business graduates receive exposure to economic institutions, the complex relationships that exist between business, government, and consumers, and a basic knowledge of the functional areas of business. Accounting, economics, ethics, finance, information systems, international business, management, marketing, operations, and statistics are at the heart of your program of study just as they integrate and interact in the world of business. The department constantly reviews the curriculum to assure that a proper blend of liberal arts, business core courses, and accounting courses are included to produce a well-prepared professional.
