ACT Preparation Course

Improve your ACT scores with the York College ACT Preparation Course.  This course incorporates the current testing requirements  and is designed to help you know what to expect when you take the test.    It is also designed to provide a good solid review of the materials required of the test.  Materials that have been learned over years of high school studies.

The ACT Test measures your understanding in key academics that are important to your success in college. The four areas are - English, Mathematics, Reading and Science  -  with an optional writing section. The ACT Test is not an IQ test, but an achievement test.  It measures skills and knowledge in relationship with what is required for a college program. Memorization of facts and vocabulary is not required for taking this test. Any terms, formula and other information that you have learned during your school years will prove helpful in achieving a good score on this test.

What is taught in this course includes, but is not limited to the following:

English  -           Critical thinking & Decisionmaking skills

Mathematics -    Algebra, Geometry & Trigonometry

Reading -           Prose fiction, Humanities, social studies, natural sciences

Science -           Biology, Chemistry, Earth/space, physic

Writing -            Essay

Practice Exams - All types with explanations
