DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY:The Art of Photography
Selecting a digital camera, proper use of the digital camera, selecting the subject to photograph, communication between camera and computer, selecting the proper paper and printing of your photographs are the topics that form the core of this class. Explore the world of digital photography and discover the phenomenal array of options in regards to how to select a Digital camera, how to best use the camera, and where to find the best subjects to photograph. These classes also offer unlimited opportunity to modify, arrange and use the photographs that you take.

Traditional photography includes camera, film, subject, selection of medium, and arrangement of the final product. Then the process begins again. With Digital Photography, you as the picture taker have the option to review your pictures as they are taken allowing for elimination of any picture that you do not want. When pictures are taken and placed in the computer, the options you have in regards to use and modification of these pictures is limitless. Pictures can be printed in a variety of sizes, modified to change the color, the background and etc.
This course is designed to introduce the participants to the world of Digital photography and to expand their abilities in regards to the art of photography. The first four weeks will cover the fundamentals of this exciting new field. It will also give you time to put the knowledge that you are gaining to good use in selecting a Digital Camera, if you do not already have one.
The second four sessions will provide instruction for and time to explore and express the creative potential that can be yours through Digital photography. It will include suggestions of how to find/create dramatic photographs, how to arrange them and how to select and use the proper printing materials.
The intent of this course is to provide the information needed for the participant to move from little or no knowledge of the Digital Camera and its use to one of understanding. This class

- Selecting a Digital Camera
- Using a Digital Camera
- How to make your computer and camera communicate
- Selection of printing materials
- Printing of your photographs
- Digital Slide show basics
Session II is designed to cover the following areas:
- Capturing good quality pictures indoors
- Creating good quality pictures indoors
- Capturing good quality pictures outdoors
- Creating good quality pictures outdoors
- Editing your photographs on your computer
- Using your Digital Camera to express your own creativity
Session III is designed to cover the following areas:
- Studio at home
- Introduction to Photoshop
- Specific photography
- Video - more about this medium
- Other

Suggested Audience: All persons who are interested in learning more about the exciting new world of Digital Photograph and the endless possible ways to express your creativity.
